Accessibility statement

How the FAME Results portal supports accessibility, and where to report issues.

Our commitment

The Pacific Community (SPC) is committed to making the FAME Results portal accessible to as wide an audience as practical, including users with disabilities, users on low-bandwidth connections, and users relying on assistive technologies. This site has been designed with WCAG 2.1 AA principles as a target.

Features that support accessibility

  • Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements can be reached via Tab; map markers and tooltips can be activated with Enter; modal dismissals use Escape.
  • Semantic structure: pages use headings, regions and ARIA labels to support screen readers.
  • Colour contrast: text-on-background pairs use the navy / cyan / teal palette with attention to contrast ratios.
  • Search: Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on macOS) opens site-wide search.
  • Responsive design: the site works on mobile, tablet and desktop viewports.
  • Reduced motion: animations are subtle; the site respects users who have reduced-motion settings.

Known limitations

Some chart visualisations (Chart.js, D3.js) are primarily visual. Where possible, the underlying data is also presented in tables or accordion text so the same information is accessible without sight of the chart. The country portal map is supplemented by a text list of all 22 countries linked from the country portals index.

Reporting issues

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, please contact the SPC FAME Division so it can be addressed: fame1.spc.int.
